thanks for the info i was goin ask one more question i was thinking of buying the same pc this week is it a good pc?

Yes it is! I have been very pleased with it – it handles everything well!

Just note that it will not play BluRay movies due to windows vista not having the BluRay codecs installed! You can buy additional programmes for it or you can wait for the codec to come along in Windows Vista Service Pack 2!

Fantastic PC for the price. Noting the previous comment, mine plays blu ray but the video is staggering. All drivers updated, arcade live updated. No problems with DVD playback. Seller admits there have been problems with blu ray playback on this but they’ll check it for free.

Hi

I don’t believe, I bought one from PC World because they said it would BURN Blu Ray and I now read it doesn’t even PLAY a Blu-Ray movie – CONNED! It’s going back!

Arthran – An interesting point. Where did you get the drivers to allow you to play BluRay movies?

Anne – Defo take it back, that’s not normal for PC World, they can normally copy and paste from the manufacture’s specification quite well :p

I seem to have messed mine up. I can’t pay Blue Ray DVDs. DO I need a driver installed?

9. AdamNo Gravatar - January 11, 2009

Currently windows doesn’t come with drivers to play BluRay movies. (An update is coming with Windows Vista Service Pack 2)
However you can purchase programmes to play BluRay movies.

My Sister has just bought this computer from PC World.
the first one she bought wouldnt turn on and was returned the same day, the secound wouldnt start properly we did a full system restore, still wouldnt start returned to store tec team did a restore and got the PC working. Spent several days setting it up and loading software to find the Blue Ray doesnt work. several phone calls later she was advised to return the PC. So a third PC is at home and Blue-Ray still doesnt work. So thank you for all your information and just to pass on ive tried Cyberlink power DVD, Corel WinDVD 9 and Acers own upgrade and none of these work.
